Abandoned City... Or another World?

If you have ever had a tour of a city and observed things around you, so you might have noticed some abandoned things, but things don’t end here. Our society has become so cruel that they just pass by after seeing a beggar, and they spend their lives being abandoned and living under the line of poverty. It’s the overall situation. And the example of “Like people, like ruler” fits here perfectly. Because if you ever visit the Tehsil Pind Dadan Khan of district Jhelum, then please make sure to keep meal of two times with you, because the situation of the roads here is such that you won’t digest the food, but your intestines will remember the GOD as well. And if you don’t get meal on time, then the rats in the stomach will become lions.

It is either carelessness by the leaders or carelessness by the Tehsil, sometimes is the excuse of funds and don’t know what that time will be when one will have the feel of travelling on the roads of this area. If God forbids someone has an emergency then the patient will just be buried in the pits on the road and these are not just words, when vehicles overturned on the same roads when there were hail rains in the past few days, different cars or other vehicles for functions, gatherings or weddings just sank there and many dreams and happiness were just ended on the same roads. Many patients just lost lives because of not reaching to the hospitals, and leaders or upper people just don’t even care about the fact, same slow pace and hollow promises.

The example of Pind Dadan Khan City and Tehsil is such that no one is its relative nor any one is ready to adopt it. Jhelum City is around 80-82 kilometers from Pind Dadan khan, but when someone is travelling to there, it is like one is going on moon using a cart. The way just doesn’t come to an end, nor do the destinations come near. Similarly, Chakwal city has also become as farther from Pind Dadan Khan as relatives are when you have no money. On one side, flows the river Jhelum and there’s a bridge for going to Malakwal and Bhera, which is quite old and is of railway, whereas there’s no road for that area. On this side, boats are used to travel on the river and in the past few days, a boat was going with a tractor on it and sank in the water. Tractor was recovered, but just think that what would happen, if a broke person has to face this much loss. Why would leaders or politicians even care about it? Why would they just build a bridge here? And if work happens here, then it requires decades of hard work and corruption. And from a nation we belong, they already owe hundreds of thousands of dollars as soon as they’re born.

Well, first that the work is never going to take place and if somehow it does then the as per commissions, there will be a lot of obstacles and bridges that the funds will run out as fast as disappearing into thin air. And then work is just post-pone for years. People always get fed up but always the people are down in the dumps, and history is full of these kinds of situations, and if somehow they pass these obstacles and levels then the material is too low in quality, and this not only happens on a small scale but on a big scale and the most recent example of this is the Sabz Baiek Line which is made up on Feroz road, the government painted a separate lane for motorcycle travellers, but a little rain that happened in Lahore not only vanished the paint, but it also ruined the plan of the government’s so-called popularity and their institutes. This thing makes us realize that if cities like Lahore which is known as the “Heart of Pakistan” are treated this way, then cities like Pind Dadan Khan that are just abandoned have no stance. This thing just exposes the preferences of the government now whether they build roads or not!

The work on Lilla road is continued, but the pace shows no hope for fast work or even hope that leaves us to be able to say that the project will be complete in one year.

Now some rumors are spreading that show the powers of the corrupt people, some groups are raising their voices against such decisions that say that those roads which are in a sorry state but still are some drivable should also be broken and then reconstructed. From this decision we can take an estimate of how much the developers still wants to tease the lower class or normal people or maybe they just want to change their focus and stop the real mission quietly.

As this city is quite historic and old, many western people come here and pay the taxes that are required, and the collectors happily gain that tax they have put on tourism or different fields but when it is time to work, they are asleep same as a person who’s drunk.

On the other hand, government’s decision to take action against the illegal occupations in the city to keep it clean and wide through cleanliness mission across the city is a good decision made by the government. But on the other side, there are people who are working hard to earn some bread for their family, what about them? Well government is focusing on that problem too but it’s as less as salt in flour.
